VOIP=voice over internet protocol…. a catogary of hardware and software that enables people to use the internet as the transmission medium for telephone calls. like skype

SOCIAL NETWORKING=which is facebook and twitter

IM= instant message

WIKIS= a collaborative website (wikipedia)

ONLINE COMMUNICATIONS= communicating online services

CHATROOM= large scale interactive communication

CHAT= online real time communication

NETIQUETTE= contract of internet etiquette

PODCASTING= like RSS. you have to set of subscriptiojns that are checked regularly for updates and instead od reading the feeds on your pc screen you listen to

content on your ipod. audio or video files downloaded.

VIRTUAL WORLDS= not real. communicating on your computer

NETWORK OF FRIENDS= two or more computer systems links together with friends

WEBLOG= create and exchange short text entries like twitter 

VLOG= video blog, youtube

cloud computing is were you use another an organisations computer these are known as hosts

it will never access servers that has info saved on to it

companies such as amazon, microsoft, google and rackspace provide storage

facebook and twitter make money with advertisement. they would put adverts on websites then every time some body clicks on it then they would get money

online services

every time you conect to the internet to fing info  you are using online services. if you are passing info to other people or exchanging info then you are using online communications. these can be used on any tye of equipment, desktop, laptop, palmtop, mobile phone or tablet.

dear diary i have done my BTEC ict folder, my digital portfolio intro and who its for, my time line, my navigation (layout), i have done my three designs, i have done a post about me and i have chosen the design i am going to use.

hi my name is Ash Crofts and i am 14 years old i like shooting,fishing,football and im am a currently brown black tab 2 in jujitsu. i have 3 brothers and a sister one of my brothers is in highschool but the rest are in primary. i like driving my motor bike and i hope to get into racing in the near future.

my chosen design

i have chosen design 1 because the layout  is simple and easy to use but it looks good aswell. its good because it tells you what it is about (my portfolio). to improve it im going to make it better by refining the layout. i dont like the other two because of the colour sceme’s and the layout is not as good and is a bit scrappy.

the audience will be any one who whants to look at it as it looks smart but is simple and easy to use. my design will fit some one who like things to be smart but are not very tecnoligicly advanced maybe some one who has just started work in an office?

the purpose of this portfolio is to show teachers and future employers my high level of ict skills.
